    Native American rock opera plays at City Theatre; Play tells grim, unspoken history of Northern California tribe

    city-theatre“Something Inside is Broken: A Native American Rock Opera”  will be coming to City College City Theatre for two performances Sept. 22-23 to recognize Native American Day.

    The show tells the story of the Nisenan tribe of Northern California during John Sutter’s reign in the Sacramento Valley in 1846, through director, writer and composer Jack Kohler’s words and music.

    “City College is one of the most ethnically diverse campuses in Northern California. It’s also the largest theater closest to the Capitol,” Kohler said.
