Local poetry will be celebrated with readings on Feb. 28 from “Late Peaches: Poems by Sacramento Poets,” at noon in the A6 Auditorium in the Performing Arts Center.

Hosting the event is City College English professor Bob Stanley, a former Sacramento Poet Laureate and editor of “Late Peaches.” City College English professors Jeff Knorr, Jan Haag, Marcene Gandolfo and Tim Kahl will read selections from Stanley’s anthology. Other readers include local poets Sue Staats, Trina Drotar, and Othello Curry.

The free event may or may not include Stanley reading and playing banjo.
