Former Black Panther Leader to speak at City College

Activist Elaine Brown, the only woman to lead the Black Panther Party, will come to City College March 28 to address new age racism in America.

Chairperson of the Black Panther Party from 1974-1977, today she is a notable advocate of radical reform in the criminal justice system. Brown is a graduate of the Southwestern University School of Law.

Brown is also the author “A Taste of Power: A Black Woman’s Story” and “The Condemnation of Little B.”

Brown will be speaking in the Cultural Awareness Center Monday noon – 1 p.m. and 6 – 7:30 p.m. The event is free and is open to students, faculty and staff.
