The wresting team treated an estimated 300 in attendance for the 32nd Annual Alumni Scrimmage Friday at the North Gymnasium with a match-up of 20, including three state champions, two runner-ups and eight medalists. The current Panthers won by the score of 48-21.

The victory marks the sixth time the team has beaten the alumni since the event started 32 years ago.

Head wrestling coach, Dave Pacheco, started the event in 1980 to “get the alumni involved in the beginning of the year” and to give the team “a look at college wrestling.”

Alumni came in all ages including 51-year-old Mark Loomis, part of the class of 1980. Loomis said he was proud of the turnout, “I’m glad to see everybody out here.”
