Snow sports take a back seat

Sacramento is not known for its snow and college students aren’t known for their free time.

These two factors hinder City College students from strapping on a pair of ski’s or a snowboard and tearing into fresh powder.
Winter sports are popular among brave people who have no fear of hypothermia. The Lake Tahoe area has seven large ski resorts, the biggest of which is Squaw Valley USA, which has 34 lifts and more than 170 runs.

Road to recovery after injury

Every athlete’s worst nightmare is suffering an injury. The anxiety of having to sit out, the frustration of enduring the physical therapy and the scare of a potential surgery are only a few of the emotions an athlete feels in dealing with an injury.
Just ask City College basketball player Stephanie Enbrigton. She is one of the best shooters on the women’s team and is currently on the road to recovery from a knee injury.

Softball, men’s track look to continue winning traditions

This spring, City College’s men’s track and softball teams will be competing to win another Big 8 Conference title. The men’s track team has won the conference title for the last three years. The softball team, on the other hand, has won every conference since 1989, with the exception of 2003.

Baseball set to defend No. 1 ranking

It’s baseball season again and the City College Panthers are gearing up for another winning season.

For the third year in a row City College is entering the season ranked No. 1 in the Collegiate Baseball Poll. The Panthers have been Big 8 Conference champions for the last two years.
