The City College women’s soccer team played hard in its home opener on Sept. 18 against Mendocino, but ended up with its first tie of the season.

The Panthers controlled the ball most of the first half, but both teams ended the half with nothing hitting the net.

Half way through the second half, the Panthers took the lead with a goal by Karissa Robertson. The lead didn’t stick however, as Mendocino’s Julie Jackson responded with a goal for Mendocino.

Despite not winning the game, the first time they didn’t win this season, coach Jang-Ha Oh believes the team had a strong showing.

“It was a fun game, unlucky we didn’t get the win,” Oh said, “The players played hard.”
