Hmong comedian Tou Ger Xiong will be giving a free performance of his show, “Teaching Culture Through Laughter” on the City College campus Wednesday night, Sept. 16 at 7 p.m.
Xiong, who also sings, raps and dances in his bilingual act, aims to educate his audience on his rich culture of the Hmong.
Originally from Minnesota, Xiong has built a reputation of being able to blend stories about his family and culture with sharp, quick wit. Many of his stories involve his father, who fought in the CIA’s Hmong army during the Vietnam War. The event is taking place in Auditorium Room 6, and seats are available on a first-come-first serve basis.
