City College (0-2) dropped their first home game 48-26 to another strong team, the Sierra College Wolverines (2-0).
“Our defensive backfield didn’t do so well,” free safety Kevin Johnston said, who had a late game interception for a touchdown. “I was hoping for a little bit more from them, but all and all I think we did OK. We just made a few mistakes.”
Although the Panthers caught some rough breaks, Interim Head Coach Dannie Walker believes that his team still did some good.
“We accomplished a lot of good things today,” Walker said. “It’s just another situation, key mistakes that were made during the game.”
The Panthers will look to get their first win Sept. 19. when Shasta College Knights (0-1) roll into Hughes Stadium.
